Slow Down &
Be Present
Morning dew on the grass, I stand bare foot.
I open my arms and look up at the trees,
the dappled sunlight dancing through the leaves.
I feel the fresh pinch of crisp morning air on my cheeks and
I listen with wonder to the music of the wildlife around.
I rarely see them, but I know they are there.
Rustling in the fallen leaves, nesting in the branches and
burrowing beneath my feet.
The earthy scent of soil and wood surrounds me.
Breathing deeply.
I am a part of this.
I am flesh and blood,
like the birds, like the squirrels and the foxes.
I am part of this cycle.
This life.
I am not above it or better than.
I am it.
I am nature.
We are nature.
We are life.
Slow down and be present.

Art For Change
The biggest fuel for my artwork is promoting gentle living for our Earth, Our Wellbeing and the wonderful Animals who live alongside us. I paint about healing the Earth, caring for the animals and being kind to ourselves.
We have one precious Earth and one precious life to do our bit to leave it healthy for future generations.
As someone who loves to create, the issue of creating new items has been a tricky thing to navigate. I love making new art, but I didn't want to abuse the planets resources. I didn't want to encourage over consumerism and be 'salesy' and I didn't want to use products that could harm the planet and its wildlife.
I decided to focus my energy on re using, re cycling and up cycling.

I use materials that are often discarded to paint on, giving them a new life, avoiding landfill and avoiding using new materials to create art. I paint on second hand denim jeans and jackets, reclaimed hardboard and plywood, wood off cuts, recycled paper, used cardboard from postal packaging and, If I cannot find recycled watercolour paper, I opt for FSC certified always.

About Lisa
I am an artist and passionate environmentalist living in a seaside town in the South of England.
I create artwork inspired by my passion for living gently and compassionately, being kind to ourselves, our Earth and the animals we share it with. My work illustrates my own journey through 10 years of plant based, sustainable living and the wellbeing practices that have become my daily pockets of peace.

ReKINDle By Lisa began in 2017 as a collection of just 6 hand painted up-cycled jackets. Just a couple of years later, I had a 4 page feature in Vegan Life Magazine and began working with animal sanctuaries, designing and creating art for them. I began making hand painted sew on activist patches using second hand denim jeans and painting wall art on reclaimed and recycled materials.
After becoming a mother, I began to add more art inspired by motherhood and wellbeing and now focus most of my creativity on environmental education and mental health. ReKINDle has bloomed in to a space to educate, create and develop a kind online community of like minded people.

Charity Work
Since I started Rekindle By Lisa in 2017, giving has been an important part of my work.
I love to support the charities, organisations and sanctuaries that are close to my heart. This can come in the form of donations, using some of the profit from specific art pieces that I make with a charity in mind. It can be donating artwork to raffles and auctions. It can be talking about specific organisations and raising awareness for them. I have also worked closely with organisations to create artwork for their campaigns.

Sustainability
Sustainability is at the heart of everything I do, not just within my business, but in my personal life too. I have been a vegan for 10 years, I grow my own veg, I avoid waste, support organic and local when I can afford to, I refill, reduce, recycle whenever possible. I make meals from scratch and I have been making my own deodorant, cleaning products and face creams for almost a decade now! To keep my business environmentally friendly I do the following:
1. Create art using reclaimed or second hand materials whenever possible.
For many of my wall hangings, I use reclaimed hardboard which prevents unwanted off cuts from entering landfill and makes use of what already is.
My jackets are always second hand. I DO NOT SUPPORT FAST FASHION. The materials used to decorate the jackets are also second hand, including any sequins or beads. They are always found in charity shops, car boot sales or on online auction or pre loved sites. Using second hand items encourages a circular economy, gives new life to old clothes and prevents the need to create new products.

2. Use recycled materials
I use 100% recycled card stock for all of my prints and part recycled part FSC watercolour paper for my watercolour paintings.
I also like to reuse packaging when I can.

3. Plastic Free Packaging
I use paper bags or compostable mailers to send jackets.
I use compostable sleeves and hard backed paper envelopes for my prints
Other artwork is usually wrapped in brown paper or tissue paper and send in hard backed envelopes.

4. I educate
I use my art and my online platforms to educate people about how to live sustainably. I create art and content showing how to make plant based meals, how to grow your own veg in an Earth friendly way, how to create wildlife habitats, how to make your own toiletries and cleaning products how to reduce waste and so much more!
